About Aurora Yaacov
I trained in Homeopathy at the London College of Classical Homeopathy and received my licence to practice in 2001. I am also a registered member of the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths (ARH).
I practise classical homeopathy, which means that I prescribe one remedy at a time, in accordance with the principles discovered by Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy. These principles have been further studied and developed throughout the 19th and 20th century by classical homeopaths in Europe, North America and India.
I feel proud and exhilariated to be part of this uninterrupted tradition of homeopathic medicine, which has used the same treatment principles effectively for more than 200 years. The classical method of homeopathic treatment appeals to me because it is so rigurous, and requires dedication to the holistic treatment of each patient.
The wealth and depth of homeopathic knowledge is amazing, both in terms of homeopathic remedies available (about 2500 so far) as well as the principles governing the use of these remedies; hence I regard my committment to continued professional development as a natural and integral part of my work as a homeopathic practitioner.
In my previous career I worked as a social worker, where my experience included working with people with disabilities, elderly people and Holocaust survivors. As a homeopath I have found it particularly rewarding to be able to work again with elderly people, this time supporting their health with homeopathic remedies. My previous career has also given me a strong grounding in counselling, and many of my patiens have appreciated my supportive approach and listening skills.
I enjoy very much working as a homeopath in North London, especially as I come into contact with a wide variety of people from different ethnic and religious background, people from all over the world. My knowledge of other languages has been very helpful here, as I found myself conducting consultations in French, Hebrew and Romanian (the languages which I speak fluently, in addition to English).
When I'm not busy with my homeopathic practice I dedicate my time to my family and friends, and to my other great interest: archeology and the prehistory of mankind.
